Workers at an Indian wildlife sanctuary in Tamil Nadu helped a baby elephant return to its mother and other members of the herd. The baby elephant strayed from the herd on December 29 in the Anamalai Tiger Reserve. He got lost and restlessly tried to find his mother, reports pravilamag.ru. Typically, elephants stop after losing a calf to begin searching for it. But this time the herd of animals walked about four kilometers after the baby elephant went missing. Reserve staff discovered the baby using drones. They transported the cub to the herd in a truck, covering it in mud to mask the human scent. A photo of a sleeping baby elephant in the arms of its mother was shared on social media by a state government environmental officer.
