A practical training on gardening was held in the Ruhubelent etrap of Dashoguz velayat on Thursday. The event was attended by local farmers of the Ruhubelent and S. Turkmenbashy etraps, representatives of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, the Research and Production Center for Agriculture of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute in Dashoguz, specialists in the field of agriculture and local public organizations. The training was organized within the framework of the project “Conservation and sustainable management of land resources and ecosystems of high natural value in the Aral Sea basin to obtain multiple benefits”, implemented by UNDP jointly with the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan. Specialists from the Research and Production Center of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute introduced participants to sustainable practices and innovative approaches to growing fruit trees and grapes. In addition, participants were introduced to modern methods of efficient use of water resources in horticulture and agriculture. The theoretical part of the training was accompanied by practical exercises, the UNDP press service reports.
